WHAT IS YOUR FIRE RISK?

The Fire Risk Score

Your facility’s fire risk isn’t fixed. In our industry, operations are dynamic — processes change, materials come and go, and new hazards emerge. Fire safety can’t be a ‘set it and forget it’ effort — it requires regular attention and adjustment. The Fire Risk Score quantifies your current risk, giving you a clear metric to track progress and demonstrate actionable results as you work to reduce hazards.

Your Partner in Fire Risk Reduction

IC Fire Prevention helps organizations assess and reduce the risk of future fires, as well as limit the severity of fires that may occur. We provide clear recommendations, training, and employee engagement initiatives to build a strong fire prevention culture. Fire Risk Scores for each location serve as benchmarks to track improvements over time. This professional third-party assessment also supports insurance underwriters and government regulators in understanding and documenting progress.

Protecting People First

Fire prevention isn’t just about protecting property — it’s about protecting people. Our assessments and training programs place life safety at the center, helping ensure employees can work in a safer environment and respond effectively in an emergency. By addressing both fire hazards and human factors, we reduce liability, strengthen worker safety, and support business continuity alongside property protection.

What we offer

Fire Risk Assessment

A comprehensive, single-site evaluation that benchmarks your facility’s current fire risk and identifies the factors driving it. We assess operations, processes, and hazards specific to your site, then deliver a clear, prioritized set of recommendations for improvement. This assessment not only highlights where you stand today but also provides a practical roadmap for reducing risk, enhancing safety, and protecting your people and property.

Fire Risk Initiative

A structured, three-year partnership designed to build and sustain a strong fire safety culture. Through regular site visits, ongoing employee engagement, targeted training, and clear performance tracking, we work alongside your team to identify hazards, implement improvements, and measure progress over time. This consistent, data-driven approach ensures fire safety becomes part of your operational culture — not just a compliance checkbox.

Rapid Fire Risk Reduction

An intensive, hands-on program to quickly reduce fire risk and ensure recommended improvements are implemented effectively. This is an accelerated alternative to the Fire Risk Initiative, incorporating all of its services along with additional dedicated support. The program is designed to significantly reduce fire risk by the end of the second visit, with the third visit evaluation expected to demonstrate a substantial decrease in the Fire Risk Score. Fire safety is a group effort, and lasting improvements depend on the commitment and engagement of facility personnel.

Fire Prevention Plan

Emergency Action Plan

Emergency Action Plan

As an OSHA-required document, your Fire Prevention Plan is more than just compliance — it’s your facility’s offensive playbook against fire hazards. A well-crafted plan outlines how to prevent fires before they start, assigns responsibilities, and ensures everyone knows their role in maintaining a safe environment. We develop customized plans that not only meet OSHA standards but also reflect your unique operations, hazards, and workflows, giving you a proactive edge in protecting people, property, and productivity.

Emergency Action Plan

OSHA requires every workplace to have an Emergency Action Plan, but the best plans go beyond compliance. This is your facility’s defensive strategy for emergencies — ensuring you can respond quickly, limit damage, and protect lives. By clearly outlining evacuation routes, communication protocols, and critical responsibilities, your team can shift from defense back to offense as quickly as possible. We develop customized plans that meet OSHA standards while addressing your site’s unique layout, operations, and hazards, so your people know exactly what to do when every second counts.

Hot Work Policy

Emergency Action Plan

Hot Work Policy

Roughly 20% of all fires in the recycled materials industry start from hot work — welding, cutting, grinding, or other spark-producing activities. A strong Hot Work Policy is your first line of defense, setting clear requirements for permits, fire watch procedures, and safe work practices. We create customized policies that meet OSHA standards and address the unique risks of your facility, ensuring your team can work safely without compromising productivity. By controlling hot work hazards, you dramatically reduce the risk of a fire and protect both your people and operations.

SIGNIFICANT FIRE RISK REDUCTION

IC Fire Prevention helps companies and employees better understand the outcomes triggered by risky behavior and unsafe conditions. When employees are engaged in this effort, the number of deficiencies goes down, and the facility is safer overall. On average, IC Fire Prevention clients are currently achieving a year-over-year drop in fire hazards of 31%. This measurable achievement reduces risks and fire-related costs.
